Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora)

Skullcap plants are small, leafy herbs with delicate, tubular flowers (often blue or purple). The name comes from the shape of the flowers, which resemble tiny helmets or “skull caps.”

Commonly used as a mild sedative to reduce stress, nervous tension, and anxiety. Taken as tea or supplement to help with insomnia and restlessness. Has a mildly bitter and earthy taste.
