Inside My Doula Bag: What I Bring to Hold Sacred Space

My doula bag is one of my most sacred tools—and what’s inside goes beyond the physical. Yes, I carry birth essentials like massage tools, affirmation cards, a rebozo, a fan, and fresh herbs. But more importantly, I carry energy—and intention.

I always pack herbs like lavender and sage to clear and calm the room. I include crystals like black tourmaline and rose quartz to protect and soften the energy. A small Bluetooth speaker helps me set the vibe with curated healing soundscapes or client-chosen playlists. I even keep a Tibetan sound bowl to ground the space when emotions feel high.

But the truth is—I am the most important thing I bring into that room. My breath. My presence. My ability to listen and respond intuitively. Every item in my bag is a reflection of how I prepare to hold space: rooted, reverent, and ready to meet the moment, no matter what unfolds.
